This is what I've been working on all semester in my Lighting and Texture class. We were supposed to model, texture, and light a realistic-looking environment... rather low-poly, it's meant for games. I decided to based it off a combination of a photo from Opacity and a scene from Silent Hill 3... which is apparently a reference to a movie called "Session 9", go figure. yeah.
Modeled in 3D Studio Max... textures made in Photoshop using stock reference from stock.xchng
Dude, NICE! The textures are really great, and the lighting is pretty believable. The light at the end of the hallway is a little weird, but it still works. I think it looks really good overall Nice work!
Yeah, we joked about that a lot in class, especially the light coming from the side door. xD Hey, saved me from having to texture three or four more rooms. @__@
Session 9 is sorta based on someone with DID. It's relatively accurate, besides the fact that one of the dissociated ego states is "evil," which doesn't really happen clinically. Obviously. Anyways, just thought I'd mention that, because I knew you were interested in DID.
And I love Opacity. You did a really nice job with this image. Very eerie. I've explored abandoned mental institutions before and if I saw this scene, I would explore with photographic fervor.
lol, yeah, I've seen Session 9. I hadn't seen it when I first started working on this, but I saw it about a month or so ago. It was a really interesting movie. the environments were gorgeous. I rented it and watched it twice... second time for the commentary.
I can't get over David Caruso's character saying "Hey... FUCK YOU." that was serious comedy. seriousss.
I am completely in love with urban decay. I think it is the most beautiful thing. I wish I could explore abandoned places. I've only ever been near two in my life... an abandoned structure in a park when I was a kid, and an abandoned coal mine (couldn't go inside but took lots and lots of photos of the outside).
I love all the depth to this peice. For some reason.. it just speaks to me without even saying words. That sounds gay, but I just really like this piece and i cant quite figure out why.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
