warning: long description to explain this character.

anyway. new character of mine, Shekina. her name is taken from a Blindside song, but apparently also means "dwelling place" in Hebrew, which seems fitting. she's a pit furrecat and her stage name is Switchblade, because in combat she switches out to different, more capable personalities.

.. yeah, Shekina has multiple personalities. I haven't included all of them, just a few that I worked out. I've been studying dissociation for a while so I figured it'd be interesting to have a multiple character, and it seems to fit the pit environment.

I tried to stay away from some cliches, so Shekina doesn't have any "evil" or rabid serial killer alters. the personalities that I drew:
Danne and Kelle: pronounced like "Danny" and "Kelly". twin brother and sister, both rather young. when one of them comes out, Shekina's fur curls a little bit. Shekina's eyes will turn a brighter green for Danne and a darker green for Kelle.
Lyle: fronts the most often and does the majority of the pit fighting. when he fronts, Shekina's fur spikes a little and her eyes turn brown. Lyle's strong and authoritative and tends to help keep the system in order. he fights usually only out of duty to protect the system, especially Shekina, so he considers himself something of a soldier. in a way, sort of like the big brother that takes care of the family.
Viper: Viper holds all of Shekina's surpressed rage, so is almost always angry and difficult to manage. Viper can sometimes force his way out, but usually only fronts when Lyle can't handle or is losing a fight that a sense of duty can't win. rather indifferent towards Shekina but very over-protective of the twins.

there are probably others but that's what I've got for now. Shekina herself is typically rather soft-spoken and avoids eye contact with anyone. her ears are almost always drooping down a bit, and her eyes are hazel (thus them changing colors to shades of green and brown). her system has a degree of co-conciousness; in other words, the personalities can communicate with one another most of the time and can be somewhat present or watching when another fronts. the system can usually work together but there are always exceptions, of course, just like any group of people. others tend to see her as crazy anyway, and that's why she wears restraints.

and... I guess that's it. of all my characters she's probably the most like me... she even has my birthmark as a marking on her back.
